Walmart.org supports work directly related to our philanthropic priorities and markets where Walmart operates. For some programs, we invite proposals by directly contacting organizations. For others, we publish requests for proposals (RFPs), accept concept notes or have an open application process. See below for more information to help you get started.
Familiarize yourself with our following initiatives to see if your work aligns:
If you believe it does, you can find grant application instructions at the end of each program description.
2. Review Program GuidelinesEligibility guidelines vary by program, so it is important to review program-specific guidelines to understand your organization’s eligibility.
Currently, Local Community Grants is the only program that accepts applications throughout the year in the form of an open application.
For the remainder of our focus areas, grant applications are accepted by invitation only. Unsolicited proposals will not be accepted, and invitations are not granted upon request. Occasionally, open requests for proposals (RFPs) will be posted for programs that are otherwise invitation only.
3. Apply For GrantsWhile each program has unique guidelines, the following criteria are standard across all our giving programs:
All organizations interested in applying for a Spark Good Local Grant must have a Spark Good account on Walmart.com/nonprofits and be verified by Walmart’s third-party verification partner, Deed. Only authorized users of the organization’s Spark Good account may apply. After you have reviewed the program guidelines, and setup an account visit the Spark Good Local Grants page at walmart.com/nonprofits. From here, you will begin the guided grant process where you pick your facility, answer questions about your organization and continue with a simple grant submission process. Your grants dashboard will be updated in real time and you will receive email messaging along the way.
If you still have questions, see the general FAQs page and the program-specific FAQs located at the bottom of each program’s information page.
If you have any technical difficulties while setting up your Deed account, please contact nonprofits@joindeed.com. For questions about a grant payment, contact sparkgoodsupport@walmart.com.
