The Planning Division provides design guidance, reviews zoning, and subdivision applications, and shapes public policy related to growth and development. We are committed to proactive, community-based planning founded on public participation, and to the building of livable, sustainable communities.
The mission of the Planning Division is to provide education, information, recommendation, and leadership products to citizens of Sanger so they can enjoy a quality of life enriched by choices in housing and transportation, efficient use of public infrastructure, distinctive community character, and a robust civic life.
The Planning Division’s primary role as part of the Development Services Department is the review of development and land use projects for compliance with Sanger’s adopted 2035 General Plan, the Southeast Sanger Area Specific Plan, zoning regulations, and the Design Standards and Guidelines. In addition, it takes the lead in state-mandated environmental review on all planning applications. Planning Division staff act as a liaison between applicants and other City departments and divisions and provide staff to the Sanger Planning Commission and City Council.
